In high school and college I rowed for eight years, having had the opportunity to represent the US at the Junior World Championships once (Hamburg) and at the U23 World Championships twice (Rotterdam and Plovdiv), earning a bronze medal in Rotterdam.

Throughout this time cycling had always been an integral part of my life, whether trying to beat my commute time to my high school (Lowell) every day or beat my 20-minute power numbers on the stationary bike as cross training in college.

After graduating Stanford in physics, I took cycling more seriously and quickly discovered how exhilarating the sport is (especially when the road goes uphill).
